Eastern Ontario Development Fund - Ontario Ministry of Economic Development and Trade

The $80 million Eastern Ontario Development Fund (EODF) provides funding assistance to businesses, municipalities and not-for-profit organizations located in eastern Ontario. The Fund supports initiatives like capital investment, worker training, and investment attraction. Included in the eligibility scope are projects that create and retain jobs, encourage the introduction of new technologies, pursue growth in new markets, and contribute to the diversification of eastern Ontario’s economy.

MOVE TO HIGH DEFINITION CREATES JOBS AT ROSS VIDEO: McGuinty Government Strengthens Eastern Ontario Economy
DICA Electronics, Carleton Place (March 16, 2009) - Expanding the scope of services it provides to Ottawa-area hi-tech companies. The expansion, which will result in 24 new jobs over three years, is supported by a $133,050 grant.
Seaway Yarns Limited, Cornwall (March 11, 2009) - Expanding its product line and service, with a view to being more competitive in the global marketplace. A grant of $315,300 will help purchase the modern equipment required to increase productivity and reduce waste, while creating 10 jobs and upgrading 12 others over five years.
KIMCO Steel Sales Limited, Kingston (February 27, 2009) - Purchasing new equipment that will increase the competitiveness of its automobile recycling operation. The government’s $129,153 investment will help create 10 new jobs and help the company divert less waste to landfill sites, while recovering more metals to increase their sales.
Tulmar Safety Systems Inc., Hawkesbury (February 23, 2009) - Designing new safety systems for the aerospace and defence industries, which will open up export opportunities overseas and potentially increase sales by 15 per cent. Thanks to the $101,625 government grant, the growing company will create 12 new jobs and upgrade three current ones over five years.
Electrolab Training Systems, Belleville (February 13, 2009) - Implementing a multi-year expansion of its highly successful proprietary SafeStart training system to American and international markets. The government’s $178,000 grant will help create 25 full-time jobs over five years and support the creation of additional jobs at one of its suppliers.
Scott Environmental Group Ltd., Kingston (February 6, 2009) - Establishing eastern Ontario’s first state-of-the-art organic processing plant in Kingston, to be completed in the summer of 2009. The new plant will create 18 full-time and 10 part-time jobs over two years, aided by the $896,950 government grant.
Minimax Express Transportation Inc., Cornwall (December 19, 2008) - Expanding the capacity of its warehouse, resulting in enhanced logistics services to its customers and more new contracts. The government’s $150,000 grant will help to create esulting in 12 new jobs over the next four years.
Powerbase Energy Systems Inc., Carleton Place (December 18, 2008) - Commercializing a ‘made-in-Ontario’ small-scale biogas system for Canadian agriculture, which provides an opportunity for farmers to save on their electricity costs, as well as benefit from another source of income. The $213,000 government grant will help create 23 jobs over four years.
St. Albert Cheese Co-operative, St. Albert (December 12, 2008) - Investing in new production technologies to expand production and market reach and enhance its competitiveness. The government’s $1.3 million grant will help to upgrade 26 jobs and create 10 new jobs over five years.
