Ontario Seeks Your Views on the Canada-EU Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement Negotiations!
Launched in May 2009, the negotiations have presented Canada with an excellent opportunity to expand and diversify trade with the EU. Officials on both sides of the Atlantic have signaled they will press for the elimination of barriers to trade and seek to promote cooperation on key regulatory, labour and environmental topics. An agreement with the EU is strongly endorsed by Ontario and our officials will participate directly in the negotiations.
Ontario is currently seeking input from the business community to help identify specific barriers and opportunities that could be used to shape the province’s negotiating strategy for upcoming rounds of discussions. This will ensure that Ontario’s commercial interests are met through the final agreement.
