Ontario, the GTA in particular, has become one of North America’s top three financial services hubs. The GTA is home to Canada’s top five domestic banks, which together account for more than 86% of the industry’s total asset, and which are rated the most solid in the world by the World Economic Forum.

It’s also home to five of the country’s largest pension plans, six of its top insurers, seven of its largest retail brokerage houses and 90% of all Canadian mutual funds. The TSX is the 3rd largest in North America and the 7th largest in the world by market capitalization.

The GTA is also the Canadian headquarters of many of the international leaders in financial services who recognize the competitive advantages of doing business in Ontario.

And our financial services sector has a global perspective. Our banks and their subsidiaries operate in countries around the world.
