Rich Products of Canada Turning The Corner With Advanced Technology: McGuinty Government Supports Job Creation in Fort Erie

NEWS

Ontario’s economy is turning the corner and helping a Niagara Region food-manufacturer modernize its operations, while creating 5 new jobs, and supporting 43 existing jobs with almost 300 people currently working at the plant.

With the purchase of two state-of-the-art advanced spiral freezers and a robotic packaging system, Rich Products of Canada will increase production volumes, boost productivity and reduce energy consumption.  The Fort Erie plant produces frozen breads, rolls, pizza and sweet goods. Seventy percent of the products are destined for the U.S. market.

Partnering with local business is a key component of the 2011 Ontario Budget - Turning the Corner, to create and support 10,000 new and existing jobs for Ontario families and strengthen our local economies.
