Ontario is helping a company that makes packaging out of recycled material to add 56 new jobs and protect nine existing jobs in Newmarket.
Pulp Moulded Products adds water to recycled paper and cardboard to create a wide range of environmentally friendly packaging products used to ship furniture, glass bottles and electronics, and a line of medical products.
The company is developing new machinery that will expand its range of packaging products, while reducing energy and water use and improving quality control. These enhancements will help Pulp Moulded Products gain new customers and grow its business.
Partnering with local business is a key component of the plan laid out on Ontario’s 2011 Budget – Turning the Corner – to create and support 10,000 new and existing jobs for Ontario families and strengthen local economies.
“As Ontario continues to turn the corner, investments like this demonstrate the green economy in action. Pulp Moulded Products is using the latest technology to turn recycled material into high-quality packaging products. That’s good news for our economy and good news for the environment.”
― Sandra Pupatello, Minister of Economic Development and Trade
“We’ve always said that pulp moulded packaging is the greenest packaging solution on the planet. This funding will help our company offer even more options and flexibility for our customers.”
― Gord Heyting, President, Pulp Moulded Products Inc.
