Boosting Arts and Culture In Campbellford: McGuinty Government Supports New Centre and Jobs

NEWS

Ontario is supporting a project to transform a historic building in Campbellford into a new arts and culture centre, creating five good jobs.

The project will help to develop the performing arts and other events for the Municipality of Trent Hills in Northumberland County.

The municipality will convert the Old Town Hall to create a multi-purpose performing theatre, box office and rehearsal space. The municipality will collaborate with the Westben Art Festival Theatre to engage the area’s artistic, cultural and heritage community to promote the facility for cultural development.

Good public infrastructure is a key foundation of a prosperous economy. Infrastructure investments can improve public services and enhance Ontarians’ quality of life. Partnering with local businesses and communities is a key component of Ontario’s 2011 Budget - Turning the Corner, to create and support 10,000 new and existing jobs for Ontario families and strengthen our local economies.
