Ontario is helping to launch a new student-focused entrepreneur initiative in London that will support students that are looking to partner or start their own business. This will also help the City of London retain post-secondary students as they establish and make London their home.
With support from the province, BizInc will help post-secondary students discover their entrepreneurial potential by educating, equipping and supporting their efforts to turn ideas into viable businesses. Participating students will also be matched with mentors and local entrepreneurs who will help them develop their ideas into business opportunities.
Partnering with business is a key component of the McGuinty Government’s plan to create and support jobs for Ontario families and strengthen local economies.
“Entrepreneurship is the key to promoting Ontario’s future economic growth. BizInc will provide our tremendously talented student graduates every opportunity to compete and succeed in today’s increasingly competitive global knowledge-based economy.”
— Chris Bentley, MPP for London West
"Young people today grow into the leaders of tomorrow and our government is committed to supporting their education and career development while fostering an entrepreneurial environment in order to help them succeed in Ontario’s increasingly diversified economy.”
– Sandra Pupatello, Minister of Economic Development and Trade
"If you provide local students and young adults with a reliable support network and a favourable business environment, there’s a greater chance they will put their entrepreneurial spirit to good use here in the London area.”
– Peter White, President, London Economic Development Corporation
