Ontario Helps Haliburton Company Create 14 New Jobs: McGuinty Government Moving Economy Forward

NEWS

Ontario is helping Haliburton Forest & Wild Life Reserve expand its forestry operation and create 14 new jobs.

With the province’s support, Haliburton Forest is constructing a new sawmill to process its own logs into a range of wood products, including flooring and high-grade lumber for the furniture industry.  The project will make the company more competitive and capitalize on the growing demand for wood products from well-managed forests.

Ontario is providing a strong and stable environment for businesses to grow and create good jobs for families in the face of global economic uncertainty. These new jobs build upon the 124,800 net new full time jobs that have already been created in Ontario so far this year.

Partnering with local businesses and supporting the forestry sector is a key component of the McGuinty government’s plan to create and support jobs for Ontario families, and to strengthen local economies.
