General Motors announced today that it will make the next generation Impala at its Oshawa plant. It’s a move made possible by Ontario’s investment in the auto sector and one that will secure 350 jobs for families in the region.

GM’s other investments in Ontario include:
Strengthening the auto sector is part of the McGuinty government’s plan to protect jobs for families while growing the economy and ensuring Ontario remains a manufacturing leader in North America.
“These jobs were on the line in 2009 and now there’s a new line of vehicles in production in Oshawa. We invested in GM because we believed in their future and in our auto workers. Today, families in Durham have jobs at GM. This is not just a boost to the economy, but a boost of confidence for the entire region.”
