New Markets, Strong Accolades

“The western Canadian industrial marketplace is crucial to our long-term plans and our participation in the National Buyer/Seller Forum since 2006 has helped to capture work outside of our traditional markets,” says Erwin Terwoord, Senior Director, Business Development, Burnco Manufacturing.

Burnco Mfg provides a full range of structural, mechanical, engineering, and maintenance products and services, including design, assembly, and fabrication. At their main 185,000-sq. ft plant in Concord, you can see cranes of up to 40 tons and state-of-the-art CNC fabrication equipment. That’s big business!

From structural fabrication to paint finishing systems, this award-winning supplier has established relationships with a number of key contractors and engineers, providing critical expertise that positions it as a value-added partner, always working at improving opportunities for success.

Recent contracts in oil sands, refinery expansions and the potash industry have helped to justify major capacity additions to Burnco’s steel fabrication facility in Concord. State-of-the-art production equipment has been added, modifications to the paint bays have transformed this capability to one of the best in Canada, and job placements have grown by 30 per cent.

Burnco is so confident about the potential in western Canada that it opened a sales office in Edmonton under the management of David Chomik, Director of Business Development. “We are encouraged by future prospects in western Canada and are very confident that the savings in labour productivity and modern production systems will continue to outweigh the added cost of freight to western Canadian project sites,” adds Erwin.
