Small and medium size manufacturers looking to boost their productivity can turn to the SMART program for help.
A joint initiative of the Ontario government and the Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters (CME), the $25 million SMART program focuses on three key areas for improving productivity: lean manufacturing and process improvements, information technology and energy efficiency.
The program provides up to 50% of eligible program costs to a maximum of $50,000 per project—and will help individual manufacturers assess their operations, find areas for improvement and put together a realistic plan to implement them.
