Invest. Innovate. Grow.

The mandate of the Ontario Manufacturing Council (OMC) is that the Vice Chairs and Council members provide recommendations to the government on strategy, policy and regulations relating to investment, innovation, trade, market development, energy and the environment. They also advise on issues that affect the global competitiveness of Ontario's manufacturing sector.

The Council was established in the 2007 Budget, to sustain the growth of a globally competitive Ontario manufacturing sector, leading to prosperity in Ontario and to provide advice to the Minister of Economic Development and Trade on the state of Ontario’s Manufacturing Sector. It is composed of a number of senior representatives of major advanced manufacturing sectors in the province (e.g. Automotive, Steel, Plastics, Chemicals, Aerospace, etc).

World Class. Ontario Made.

Creating the Green Virtuous Circle

Anyone who has struggled with rigid, impossible-to-open plastic containers for toys, hardware, electronic items and the like will welcome a new environmentally friendly product line from a fledgling Ontario company, Pulp Moulded Products. “You don’t need to borrow the Jaws of Life from your local fire department to open one of our packages,” says company president Gord Heyting.
