
The Vintners Quality Alliance Wine Support Program is a five year program (2010-14) that is intended to support the continued growth and development of wineries in Ontario. The program encourages wineries to undertake new or expanded activities to grow their Vintners Quality Alliance business and be more competitive in the wine and grape industry.

Program eligibility is limited to Ontario wineries selling Vintners Quality Alliance table wines through the Liquor Control Board of Ontario. Grant payments will be based on Liquor Control Board of Ontario Vintners Quality Alliance table wine sales data for the previous fiscal year which begins April 1st and ends March 31st. Grant funds must be used for business development purposes only, such as product and sales growth, capital investment and marketing. Eligible expenses include the purchase of production equipment / new technology; marketing and promotional expenditures consistent with Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario Liquor Advertising Guidelines; and the development of growth strategies (e.g., tourism opportunities).
The Ministry of Economic Development, Trade and Employment will be sending applications to wineries that are eligible for 2012 program funding in June 2012.

Applications for the 2012 Vintners Quality Alliance Wine Support Program will be accepted by the Ministry of Economic Development, Trade and Employmentuntil July 6, 2012 at 5:00 PM. It is expected that the 2012 grant payments will be made to eligible wineries by the end of summer 2012.
