LANXESS ribbon cutting event

SARNIA, July 6, 2007 - Minister of Economic Development and Trade Sandra Pupatello took part in a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the completion of a major capacity expansion project at the LANXESS butyl rubber plant in Sarnia.

Minister Pupatello congratulates LANXESS for supporting high-value jobs in the Sarnia community and describes how the McGuinty government is creating a competitive business climate to encourage investment and economic growth.

The Minister is joined by LANXESS executives for the ribbon cutting ceremony.

Minister Pupatello speaks with Dr. Axel Heitmann, the global CEO of LANXESS AG, who flew in from Germany for the event.

The event was attended by the company’s key customers from the automotive and tire industries, in addition to government representatives and media.
