About the Registry

The Registry encourages the business community and the public to participate in the development of LGIC regulations that affect them.

  1. A plain language summary of a proposal for a new or amended regulation that is expected to affect business is posted on the Registry.
  2. Members of the business community and the public can review the proposal and send their comments and feedback to the Ministry making the regulatory change.
  3. The Ministry considers the input received from the business community and the public as it drafts its regulation.
  4. When the regulation is approved by the Lieutenant-Governor-In-Council, the Ministry posts a plain language summary of the regulation and a link to the Ontario government's e-Laws website for further information.

Effective April 1, 2006, all Ministries are required to post regulatory proposals and approved Lieutenant-Governor-in-Council regulations affecting business on the Registry.
