Administrative amendment to update definitions in the Drinking Water Systems Regulation (O. Reg. 170/03) made under the Safe Drinking Water Act, 2002  (source: Environmental Registry)
The purpose of this Information Notice is to advise the public that an administrative amendment to O. Reg. 170/03 (Drinking Water Systems) was required as a result of the Province's introduction of the Community Homelessness Prevention Initiative (CHPI), which came into effect on January 1, 2013. These administrative amendments will not have a significant affect on the environment and do not change the scope or intent of the existing legislation.

Amendments to Highway Traffic Act (HTA) regulations to reference Ontario College of Trades and Apprenticeship Act, 2009
The Ministry of Training Colleges and Universities repealed the Apprenticeship and Certification Act, 1998 (ACA) and the Trades Qualification and Apprenticeship Act (TQAA) and replaced them with the Ontario College of Trades and Apprenticeship Act, 2009 (OCTAA). The ACA and TQAA are referenced in four HTA regulations that have been amended to reference the new OCTAA, where applicable.

The regulation amends Ontario Regulation 175/11- Prescribed Trades and Related Matters under the Ontario College of Trades and Apprenticeship Act 2009. The regulation: - amends two trade names (Aboriginal Child Care Practitioner to Aboriginal Child Development Practitioner) and (Child Care Practitioner to Child Development Practitioner) -removes the trade of Cement Mason The amendments come into effect under the Act on April 8, 2013.

The Ontario College of Trades (College) is inviting public comment on a proposed regulation related to professional misconduct.

Ontario College of Trades and Apprenticeship Act, 2009 (OCTAA) - Deeming Periods for Membership in the Ontario College of Trades
To facilitate start up of the Ontario College of Trades, it is proposed that a Minister's regulation be made to change the two-year deeming period for individual's holding a valid Certificate of Qualification in a compulsory or voluntary trade under the Apprenticeship and Certification Act, 1998 or the Trades Qualification and Apprenticeship Act and to provide deeming periods for other groups.

Seeking public feedback on the proposed Minister and Lieutenant-Governor-in-Council (LGIC) regulations under the Ontario College of Trades and Apprenticeship Act, 2009. These regulations are required for the full implementation of the Ontario College of Trades.

Ontario College of Trades- Proposed Regulatory Provisions
The College is inviting public comment on a package of proposed regulations related to the following:amending two trade names in Ontario Regulation 278/11; removing a trade's scope of practice from Ontario Regulation 275/11; public notice required for meetings and hearings that are open to the public; naming geographic areas for the Appointments Council to take into consideration when carrying out its appointment duties; and governing of the establishment of apprenticeship programs.

Ontario College of Trades- Ratios of Apprentices to Journeypersons
The approved regulation: - establishes the journeypersons to apprentice ratios for the trades of Cement (concrete) Finisher and Floor Covering Installer. The new ratios come into effect for new apprentices on April 8, 2013 for both trades.
