The proposed amendments to Ontario Regulation 162/01 made under the Electricity Act, 1998 are required to implement the 2015 Budget proposals to (i) provide time-limited relief on payments-in-lieu of taxes (PILs) for Municipal Electricity Utilities (MEUs) and (ii) prevent the avoidance of PILs through direct or indirect dispositions of partnership interests.

Regulations establishing a marketing board for veal under the Farm Products Marketing Act (FPMA) and consequential amendments to Regulation 54 under the Beef Cattle Marketing Act (BCMA).
Veal producers have expressed strong support for the establishment of a marketing board for veal. The establishment of a board requires regulations under the FPMA to create the board and outline its powers. Consequential amendments would be such that provincial licence fees and national levies would no longer be collected on the sale of veal calves.
