Raw Leaf Tobacco Oversight - Tracking, Labelling and Reporting |
The Ministry of Finance (MOF) is responsible for oversight of all raw leaf tobacco (RLT) in Ontario including flue-cured, dark-fired and burley tobacco. The Tobacco Tax Act (TTA) was amended in December 2015 to enhance oversight of the RLT regime and better enable the government to directly address the issue of contraband tobacco. The MOF is developing regulatory and administrative measures, which will be in force in advance of the 2016 RLT harvest, required to support the amendments to the TTA. |
