A new regulation will make tire producers environmentally and financially responsible for recovering resources and reducing waste associated with the tires they supply in Ontario. This will further reduce the amount of tires lost to disposal, benefit our environment and economy, and support our efforts to fight climate change.

Regulatory amendment to Ontario Regulation 344 (Disposable Containers for Milk)  (source: Environmental Registry)
The Ministry of the Environment and Climate Change (the ministry) is proposing to amend Regulation 344 to provide two options for milk producers to use containers that are collected through a deposit return program, or the current Blue Box program or a recycling program that services over 90% of Ontario households.

Amend Part 7 of O. Reg. 663/98 (Areas South of the French and Mattawa Rivers where Sunday Gun Hunting is Permitted) under the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Act
areas. Populations of many wildlife species in Ontario are healthy. While this is generally good news, there are some local instances where the public has expressed concern regarding the impact of abundant wildlife on habitat degradation, wildlife health, animal/vehicle collisions, and agricultural crop and livestock damage. The agricultural community, including farmers and other landowners, have proposed that allowing Sunday gun hunting would be a beneficial and cost-effective.

Policy Proposal on Adjusting Certain Public Lands Act Administrative Fees  (source: Environmental Registry)
The Public Lands Act (PLA) provides the Minister of Natural Resources and Forestry (MNRF) with responsibility for the management, sale and disposition of Crown lands including: establishing rent for the occupation of Crown land; collecting royalties for use of Crown resources; and levying administrative fees to recover the cost of delivering services (e.g. issuance of leases, land use permits, documents, etc.). PLA administrative fees have not been adjusted since 2003.

Proposed regulation to prescribe the costs, expenses, losses and damages that a person responsible for causing a forest fire is liable for under the Forest Fires Prevention Act, 1990 and amendments to Part II Industrial Operations of Ontario Regulation 207/97: Outdoor Fires.
The proposed regulation would prescribe the types of costs, expenses, losses and damages that the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry (MNRF) can recover from individuals or corporations responsible for causing forest fires. The proposal also includes two amendments to Part II - Industrial Operations of Ontario Regulation 207/97: Outdoor Fires.

Proposed Regulations under the Proposed Fairness in Procurement Act, 2018 (Bill 194)
Subject to enactment of the Fairness in Procurement Act, 2018 (Bill 194), Treasury Board Secretariat (TBS) is proposing to make regulations responsive to the Buy American legislation in the states of New York and Texas.
