Industry Proposed Changes to the Regulation that Sets the Fees Payable to the Livestock Financial Protection Board under the Ontario Beef Cattle Financial Protection Program
At the request of the Livestock Financial Protection Board, the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (OMAFRA) is proposing amendments to Ontario Regulation 321/11 (O. Reg. 321/11), which sets out the fees payable to the Livestock Financial Protection Board, raising the fee from five cents per head to ten cents per head.

Property Tax Exemption for Non-Profit Long-Term Care Homes
The 2014 Ontario Budget announced a plan to provide consistent and equitable property tax treatment to non-profit long-term care homes (LTCs). Most charitable and non-profit LTCs are currently exempt from property taxation. However, a small number remain taxable due to inconsistent historic policies. To facilitate consistent treatment, the Assessment Act was amended in 2014 and a regulation is required to prescribe eligibility criteria

Proposed Regulations under the Highway 407 East Act, 2012
Highway 407 East, the first phase of which is anticipated to be open to traffic by late 2015, is a provincially owned toll highway. When completed, the highway will run east from the eastern end of Highway 407 to Highway 35/115, and will include two north-south connecting links between Highway 407 East and Highway 401. The Ministry of Transportation (MTO) is proposing regulations under the Highway 407 East Act, 2012 (407 East Act).
