Amend Regulation 552 of the Health Insurance Act (HIA)

The Ontario Legislature has amended the Highway Traffic Act to prohibit the use of hand-held devices to talk, text or e-mail while driving. The legislation will prohibit drivers from using hand-held wireless communication devices and hand-held electronic entertainment devices. The legislation also prohibits drivers from viewing display screens that are not related to the driving task, such as screens on DVD players or laptops, while driving.
