Amendments to O. Reg. 663/98 (Area Descriptions) to revise Bear Management Area and Registered Trapline boundaries to facilitate transfers of Crown land to the federal government under Land Settlement Agreements

Changes were made to BMA and registered trapline boundaries under this regulation to facilitate several transfers of provincial Crown lands to the federal government related to the implementation of negotiated land settlement agreements with the following First Nations communities (MNR District): Lake Nipigon Ojibway (Animbiigoo Zaagi’igan Anishinaabek (AZA) (Nipigon), Michipicoten (Wawa), Sand Point (Nipigon), Rainy River (Fort Frances & Kenora), Rocky Bay (Nipigon) and Pic Mobert (Wawa)

Revocation Orders for Four Redundant Conservation Authority Regulations

In 2004 Ontario Regulation 97/04 was passed to introduce changes to the Conservation Authorities Act S. 28 regulations requiring the replacement of the previous S. 28 “Fill” regulations with the new S. 28 "Development, Interference with Wetlands and Alterations to Shorelines and Watercourses." All 36 conservation authorities have the new “Development” regulations in place.

On July 16, 2009, MNR submitted a request to the Ministry of the Environment (MOE) for an Exemption Regulation under subsection 39(f) of the EAA. The proposed regulation would exempt from the EAA Ontario's transfer of administration and control of Ipperwash Provincial Park to the Canada, for the use and benefit of the Chippewas of Kettle and Stony Point First Nation, rescinding the park boundaries, and pre-transfer activities.
