Aggregate operations on private land in the geographic townships of Gorham and Ware will be subject to the requirements of the ARA. Specifically, the parts of Ontario set out in Schedule 5 (see weblink below) are designated under subsection 5 (2) of the Act.

The Greenhouse Gas Emissions Reporting Regulation (O. Reg. 452/09) requires facilities operating in Ontario with annual emissions equal to or greater than 25,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent to report and verify their greenhouse gas emissions data. The proposed amendments to the Greenhouse Gas Emissions Reporting Regulation are intended to support the development and future implementation of a cap and trade program for greenhouse gases.

As part of the 2014-2019 Sustainability Strategy for the Fish and Wildlife Special Purpose Account, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry (MNRF) proposes to increase the commercial fish royalty rate from 3.3 percent to 5 percent over 3 years beginning January 1, 2016. The ministry is proposing a regulation to amend Regulation 347 and replace the Minister's Requirement for Hazardous Waste Fees. The proposed regulation, if made, would raise the tonnage component of the Hazardous Waste Fees from $10 per tonne to $20 per tonne for hazardous waste transferred or disposed of between January 1, 2016 and December 31, 2016. The tonnage component of the Hazardous Waste Fees would be further increased to $30 per tonne as of January 1, 2017.

The Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (OMAFRA) is considering amendments to Ontario Regulation 119/11 Produce, Honey and Maple Products under the Food Safety and Quality Act, 2001. The potential amendments would more closely align federal and provincial maple grading, colour classification, and labelling standards while strengthening food safety requirements. The changes also aim to enhance product quality and support growth of the maple industry.

Certain "distributors" of electricity ("Exempt Distributors") are exempted from some distributor licence conditions if they meet the requirements set out in the Exemption Regulation. Effective January 1, 2016, the proposed amendments would add two new requirements - passing through the applicable DRC exemption to electricity users in eligible residential units of sub-metered complexes, and passing through the proposed OESP credit to eligible electricity users.
