Amendment to Ontario Regulation 421/12 (General) under the Ontario College of Trades and Apprenticeship Act

O. Reg. 421/12 was amended to accomplish the following: 1. 90-Day Period Extend, for one year, the 90-day period for a new apprentice to become a member of the Ontario College of Trades ("the College"). The 90-day period extension will expire on April 8, 2017. 2. Barber Exemption Extend, for one year, the College membership fee exemption for individuals who held a Barber Certificate of Qualification (C of Q) on March 26, 2013 under previous apprenticeship and trade legislation.

Amendment to Regulation 664/98 (Fish Licensing)

Amendment to Ontario Regulation 664/98 under the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Act to deem the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry and Nipissing First Nation to be an instrument under the Act.

Proposed Regulation under section 160.1 of the Labour Relations Act, 1995 (LRA)

The Ministry of Labour is proposing to develop a regulation that may be made in accordance with section 160.1 of the LRA that would deem certain bargaining rights abandoned and that would impose additional rights and obligations on certain parties. The proposed regulation would take into consideration the efforts made by an experienced mediator to help the affected parties resolve this issue and his recommendation to the Minister.

Designated Agreements under Section 12.3 (Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation Act, 1999)

Legislative amendments were recently made to the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation Act, 1999 to transfer responsibility for the existing Horse Racing Partnership Funding Program from the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs to the Ministry of Finance. This regulation will allow this program, and the agreements signed under the program, to continue.

Amendment to Regulation 753 (Grades, Standards, Designations, Classes, Packing and Marking) under the Milk Act.

Regulation 753 (Grades, Standards, Designations, Classes, Packing and Marking) under the Milk Act establishes a set of milk classes for cow's milk. The classes are based on the types of products (fluid milk, cheese, yogurt etc.) produced from milk. Dairy Farmers of Ontario (DFO) has asked the Ontario Farm Products Marketing Commission to establish a new class for milk used to process certain milk ingredients and milk products.

Proposed amendments to Ontario Regulation 79/10 under the Long-Term Care Homes Act, 2007.

The Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care proposes to make amendments to Ontario Regulation 79/10 under the Long-Term Care Homes Act, 2007 relating to: the 2015 Design Manual, qualifications for personal support workers, lighting, food service workers hours and beds in abeyance, as well as to revoke the Schedule relating to the Board of Management for District of Algoma and the exemption relating to the religious and spiritual practices program in alternative settings.
