Amendments to Reg. 347 under the EPA relating to waste from COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Point-of-Care Testing  (source: Environmental Registry)

We have amended Regulation 347 to provide exemptions for generators and carriers of waste generated by COVID-19 antigen point-of-care testing from certain administrative requirements, including registering the waste, and completing manifests in respect of the waste.
Effective Date:  May 12, 2021

Amendments to Reg. 347 under the EPA relating to generation, collection, transportation and storage of waste from COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Point-of-Care Testing.

We have amended Regulation 347 to remove requirements for the collection, storage and transportation of hazardous waste generated by COVID-19 antigen testing. The waste is still required to be disposed of at approved biomedical waste disposal site.

Amending the Distribution Rate Protection Regulation

This proposed regulatory amendment would amend Ontario Regulation 198/17 (Distribution Rate-Protected Residential Consumers) to reduce pressures on program costs.

Proposed Amendments to O.Reg. 79/10, Long-Term Care Homes Act, for Enhancing Cooling Requirements in Long-Term Care Homes

Ministry of Long-Term Care considering regulatory amendments to enhance cooling requirements in long-term care homes to improve safety & comfort of residents. Proposal includes requirement for air conditioning or equivalent mechanical cooling systems in designated cooling areas & refined regulatory approach to clarify requirements for licensees to better protect residents from hot weather-related concerns. Residents would be protected from unacceptably high temperatures.
