Proposed amendments to Direct Selling Rules and Enforcement Rules under the Consumer Protection Act, 2002
This consultation proposal is seeking input on amendments that would reduce burden and barriers for businesses that provide products and services when the consumer has initiated contact; level the playing field by increasing consumer protection to deter non-compliant businesses in the sector; and strengthen enforcement powers to target businesses that cause the most harm to consumers.

Removing acetone reporting requirements  (source: Environmental Registry)
We are proposing to end reporting on acetone for the 2019 reporting year and onwards by: 1. eliminating Ontario Regulation 127/01 - Airborne Contaminant Discharge Monitoring and Reporting made under the Environmental Protection Act, 1990, and 2. amending Ontario Regulation 455/09 made under the Toxics Reduction Act, 2009

A proposal to amend various regulations under the Mining Act  (source: Environmental Registry)
The Ministry of Energy, Northern Development and Mines (the ministry) is proposing to amend regulations to ensure compliance with the most recent safety guidelines for dams, reduce possible burdens to clients when managing mining claims on the Mining Lands Administration System (MLAS), and to provide more flexibility in managing mining lands. The ministry is also proposing to revoke a regulation which is longer relevant.

O. Reg. 525/97 (Exemption from Approval (Official Plan Amendments))
The Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing (MMAH) is proposing to amend Ontario Regulation 525/97 (Exemption from Approval (Official Plan Amendments)) under the Planning Act in order to exempt certain municipalities from the requirement to obtain the Minister's approval of official plan amendments.

Proposed Regulation to be made under the Federal Carbon Tax Transparency Act, 2019
The purpose of the proposed regulation is to prescribe the notice (i.e., Federal Carbon Tax Transparency Sticker) to be obtained by gasoline retailers in Ontario and affixed to each retail gasoline pump. The stickers would be provided free of charge and sent by mail to retail outlets. Additional stickers would also be obtainable through a government website.

Amending Regulation 54 of the Beef Cattle Marketing Act to increase licence fees collected by the Beef Farmers of Ontario.
At the request of the Beef Farmers of Ontario (BFO) and with the support of their members, OMAFRA is proposing an amendment to Regulation 54 (Licence Fees) of the Beef Cattle Marketing Act. This change would increase the fee on beef cattle sold within Ontario and internationally by $1.50, from $3 to $4.50. The licence fee is collected and used by the BFO to fund activities such as marketing, promotion and research.

The Housing Services Act, 2011 establishes the legislative framework for social housing in Ontario. Rent-geared-to-income assistance is administered locally by 47 Service Managers (municipalities and district social services administration boards) designated under the Housing Services Act, 2011 to manage social housing programs across the province.

Rent-geared-to-income assistance is administered locally by 47 Service Managers (municipalities and district social services administration boards) designated under the Housing Services Act, 2011 to manage social housing programs across the province.

Proposed Amendments to the Housing Services Act, 2011 Related to Social Housing Waiting Lists
The Housing Services Act, 2011 establishes the legislative framework for social housing in Ontario. Under this Act, 47 Service Managers (municipalities and district social services administration boards) are required to administer waiting lists for access to rent-geared-to-income assistance in social housing in their service area, in compliance with detailed rules.
