Amendments to three Regulations under the Surveyors Act to achieve efficiencies for the regulator, survey businesses and protections for the public

The Association of Ontario Land Surveyors (the Association) was established in 1892. They are a self-governing association, responsible for the licensing and governance of professional land surveyors, under the Surveyors Act, in order that the public interest may be served. If approved, Regulations under the Surveyors Act will be amended to effect several changes to improve efficiency, achieve cost savings and enhance public protection.

Potential Permanent Changes to Enable Digital and Virtual Processes under the Ministry of Government and Consumer Services Business Law and Condominium Statutes

Consultation on potential permanent changes to enable digital and virtual processes under the following statutes: 1. Corporations Act and Not-for-profit Corporations Act, 2. Business Corporations Act, Limited Partnerships Act, Partnerships Act, and Personal Property Security Act. 3. Co-operative Corporations Act and 4. Condominium Act, 1998.

Tow Zone Pilot Project, Towing Services on designated Provincial Highways

Under the Tow Zone Pilot Project initiative the Ontario Ministry of Transportation (MTO) plans to establish multiple restricted tow zones on provincial highways where only authorized towing operators can provide towing and recovery services. The proposed Regulation will enable the police services to lay charges to enforce the restricted tow zones. The proposed Regulation will also authorize new regulatory signing which will designate the beginning and end points of each restricted tow zone.
