Proposed Revision to Ontario Energy Board (OEB) Leave to Construct Cost Threshold for Hydrocarbon Pipelines  (source: Environmental Registry)

We are proposing to increase the cost threshold for hydrocarbon pipelines that require Ontario Energy Board (OEB) approval through its Leave to Construct process from $2 million to $10 million. This proposal would support Ontario's commitment to regulatory burden reduction and providing a reliable and cost-effective energy supply.

WSIA Coverage for Personal Support Workers and Developmental Support Workers

The Ministry wants your input on extending mandatory coverage to employers who commonly employ PSWs and/or DSWs but are not subject to mandatory coverage. Feedback to the questions posed in the consultation paper will provide valuable insight as the government determines the best ways to protect PSWs and DSWs.

Proposed Amendments to O. Reg. 367/11 under the Housing Services Act, 2011 Related to Required Local Eligibility Rules, set out in Bill 184, Protecting Tenants and Strengthening Community Housing Act, 2020

The ministry is proposing to amend O. Reg. 367/11 under the Housing Services Act, 2011 to require Service Managers to have local eligibility rules on household income limits and asset limits for RGI assistance.

Authorized Requester Program Legislation and Regulations

The Ministry of Transportation has successfully introduced legislative changes to section 205 of the Highway Traffic Act that allows for the disclosure of a driver's personal information to Authorized Requesters under agreement, through the Authorized Requester Program. The Ministry is now proposing to move forward with introducing regulations that were prescribed under the amending legislation.

Regulatory amendment under the Provincial Offences Act ("POA"): adding alternatives to in-person service of POA summons on non-corporate defendants

In most cases, the POA currently requires summonses to be hand-delivered. The proposal would give additional service options: registered mail, courier, or email. It would also allow a defendant or witness to authorize their lawyer or paralegal to receive a summons on their behalf.

College of Denturists of Ontario (CDO) and the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario (RCDSO) Registration Regulations

The CDO is proposing to revoke and replace Ontario Regulation 833/93 (Registration) made under the Denturism Act, 1991, and the RCDSO is proposing amendments to Ontario Regulation 205/94 (General) made under the Dentistry Act, 1991 related to the suspension, revocation and reinstatement of a certificate of registration and general housekeeping.
