On May 12, 2021 Private Members Bill 246 Safer School Buses Act, 2021 (PMB 246) received Royal Assent. PMB 246 amends the Highway Traffic Act (HTA) requiring all school buses manufactured on or after January 1, 2005 be equipped with the Eight Lamp Amber-Red Warning System. The Ministry of Transportation (MTO) is proposing to amend Regulation 612 School Buses to align with the amendments made the HTA.
