The purpose of this consultation is to develop a better understanding of the issues that the condominium community is facing with respect to insurance in Ontario, including the definition of 'standard unit' under the Condominium Act, 1998 (Condo Act), obtaining and maintaining reasonable insurance coverage for condominium corporations, condominium insurance affordability and availability and any related building code issues.

On March 4, 2020, the Trust in Real Estate Services Act, 2020 (TRESA, 2020) received Royal Assent. TRESA, 2020 amends the Real Estate and Business Brokers Act, 2002 (REBBA).
The Ministry of Government and Consumer Services is consulting on the second phase of draft regulations required to bring the related legislative changes made by TRESA, 2020 into force. This posting is for the purposes of seeking feedback on proposed updates to four regulations under REBBA.

The Ministry of Labour, Training and Skills Development (MLTSD) is interested in receiving feedback and information on the issue of opioid use in the workplace, with a particular focus on facilitating access to naloxone in the workplace in order to reduce the risk of workplace-related deaths caused by opioid overdoses.

This is a new regulation that would require forensic laboratory operators who conduct prescribed categories of tests to provide the Solicitor General with information about the accreditation status of the laboratory, if requested.

On May 12, 2021 Private Members Bill 246 Safer School Buses Act, 2021 (PMB 246) received Royal Assent. PMB 246 amends the Highway Traffic Act (HTA) requiring all school buses manufactured on or after January 1, 2005 be equipped with the Eight Lamp Amber-Red Warning System. The Ministry of Transportation (MTO) is proposing to amend Regulation 612 School Buses to align with the amendments made the HTA.

The Ministry of Finance is proposing new regulations under the Credit Unions and Caisses Populaire Act, 2020 (CUCPA 2020) that will modernize the regulatory framework, reduce burden, encourage innovation, and improve consumer protection.
Following a legislative review from 2018-2020, the CUCPA 2020 was passed as part of the Protect, Support and Recover from COVID-19 Act (Budget Measures), 2020. This posting includes proposed regulations that would support the implementation of the CUCPA 2020.
