Faculty and Staff Sexual Misconduct Towards Students and Ryerson University Name Change

The Ministry of Colleges and Universities is proposing legislative amendments that would, if passed: • enable publicly assisted colleges and universities, and private career colleges to strengthen their response to sexual violence on campus and support student survivors of sexual violence, particularly in cases of faculty and staff sexual misconduct towards students • change the name of Ryerson University to "Toronto Metropolitan University" • change the size and composition of Ryerson University/Toronto Metropolitan University's senate to add the Deputy Provost and Vice-Provosts and to expand the number of elected members from 51 to 62 members.

Administrative Penalties Regime for Ontario One Call

The Getting Ontario Connected Act, 2022 received Royal Assent on April 14, 2022. Among other things, the Act amends the Ontario Underground Infrastructure Notification System Act, 2012 to improve Ontario One Call's compliance tools by providing Ontario One Call with the authority to issue administrative penalties against non-compliant members and excavators in the industry for specified contraventions.

Amendments to the New Home Construction Licensing Act, 2017 to support the proclamation of administrative monetary penalties

The Ministry of Public and Business Service Delivery is proposing new Minister's regulations to support the proclamation of provisions governing administrative monetary penalties (AMPs) under the New Home Construction and Licensing Act, 2017 (Licensing Act). The proposed regulations aim to enhance the Home Construction Regulatory Authority's (HCRA's) enforcement powers and ensure adherence to the requirements and rules currently set out under the Licensing Act and its regulations, among other things.
