Summary of Proposal:
The proposed regulatory changes to Ontario Regulation 413/05 (Vehicle Weights and Dimensions - For Safe, Productive, and Infrastructure-Friendly Vehicles) under the Highway Traffic Act are intended to modify various regulatory specifications applicable to the dimensions of trucks and trailers: (1) the overall length and tractor wheelbase limits on B-train Double Trailer combinations are extended; (2) longer aerodynamic devices are authorized; (3) a technical issue when SPIF trucks are pulling pre-SPIF trailers is addressed, and (4) housekeeping changes are introduced to correct typographical issues.
