Summary of Proposal:
The Ministry of Transportation made amendments to Ontario Regulation 316/03, Operation of Off-Road Vehicles on Highways, to update Schedules A and B in the regulation to better reflect the current provincial highway network.
The same updates in Schedule A of Ontario Regulation 316/03 were made to Schedule 1 of Ontario Regulation 863, General (Off-Road Vehicles Act).
Updates were necessary due to:
• Changes in highway designations
• Upgrades to sections of highways resulting in higher speeds and higher traffic volumes
• Changes to names and jurisdiction of highways
• Changes to names of municipal and regional roads
• Changes to names of municipalities, towns and townships
• Changes in municipal organization
• Typographical errors
• New corridors resulting from construction projects
