Summary of Proposal:
The proposed regulations will impose certain funding and notice requirements that must be met in the purchase of an annuity that is eligible for discharge under section 43.1 of the Pension Benefits Act (PBA).
The proposed regulations will also prescribe requirements that must be met for administrators to be discharged with respect to annuities that were purchased before section 43.1 of the PBA comes into effect.
