Summary of Proposal:
Lanark County is a Service Manager responsible under the Housing Services Act, 2011 for the administration of community housing within the County.

In September 2020, Lanark County submitted a request to the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing to remove 18 community housing properties in Carleton Place, known as the Joseph Edward Pattie housing project, from the application of the Housing Services Act, 2011.

O.Reg. 368/11 lists the "designated housing projects" that are subject to the Act, and removing a project from the regulation removes a project from the application of the Act.

The subject properties have been vacant since 2015-16 and are not suitable for use by the County, as the land is partially contaminated; tenants were moved to other RGI units within Lanark County.

In October 2020, the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing approved the request and made O.Reg. 564/20 removing the housing project from O.Reg. 368/11.
