Approved amendment to change the co-payment rate for residents of long-term care homes and chronic care patients in hospitals to increase by 0.3% (the 2009 CPI) effective July 1, 2010. This increase translates into a $0.16 per day increase raising the daily basic co-payment rate from $53.07 to $53.23. Effective November 1, 2010 the comfort allowance will increase from $128.00/month to $130.00/month. These changes affect approximately 77,000 residents in long-term care homes and 600 patients in chronic care hospital beds.
