Summary of Proposal:
The Ministry is proposing amendments to the Ontario Food Terminal Act (OFTA) to add a new section that would, if passed:

•Establish a duty for the Ontario Food Terminal Board (OFTB) to develop and maintain a contingency plan for emergency situations,
•Require the Board to plan for the carrying out of its operations at a temporary location, for no longer than 30 days in an emergency situation, and
•Allow the Minister to direct the OFTB to implement all or part of its contingency plan in the event of an emergency.
