Community Safety and Policing Act, 2019
Summary of Proposal:
In April 2024, the Community Safety and Policing Act, 2019 (CSPA) came into force, replacing the Police Services Act (PSA). The CSPA is an opportunity to modernize policing and enhance community safety in Ontario.

As part of the regulatory work under the Act, public and stakeholder input is being requested to develop a regulation prescribing law enforcement information that the Inspector General (IG) may redact from certain findings reports and directions, as well as prescribing personal information that the IG is required to redact from certain findings reports and directions, as appropriate under the CSPA.
