Summary of Decision:
The Ontario Farm Products Marketing Commission (Commission) amended Ontario Regulation 207/01 (Designation of Natural Products of Agriculture as Farm Products) under the Farm Products Marketing Act (FPMA).
This amendment designates Turfgrass Sod as a farm product.
This amendment is required in order for the Commission to respond to the industry request to conduct an Expression of Opinion Vote to determine whether there is sufficient support for the creation of a local board to represent the turfgrass sod sector in Ontario.
The amendment also includes a French version of O. Reg. 207/01, which was previously a unilingual regulation.
