Summary of Proposal:
The Ontario Ministry of Agriculture Food and Rural Affairs (OMAFRA) is taking an active role in reducing the regulatory burden on stakeholders and modernizing our approach to regulating, while continuing to protect the public interest. Stakeholders have raised concerns about “growing regulatory burden.”

OMAFRA has identified the following regulations under the Farm Products Grades and Sales Act, R.S.O. 1990 Chapter F.8 that are no longer required:
- R.S.O. 1990, Regulation 373, Burley Tobacco
- R.S.O. 1990, Regulation 377, Grades – Christmas Tree
- Ontario Regulation 95-97, Apples – Controlled-Atmosphere Storage
These regulations are no longer required by government, nor by the respective industries. By revoking the above mentioned regulations, OMAFRA will reduce regulatory burden for stakeholders and confusion over the existence of these obsolete regulations will be eliminated.
