Summary of Proposal:
The Ontario Ministry of Agriculture Food and Rural Affairs (OMAFRA) is taking an active role in reducing the regulatory burden on stakeholders and modernizing our approach to regulating, while continuing to protect the public interest. Stakeholders have raised concerns about “growing regulatory burden.” The Ministry has identified Ontario Regulation 359/99 (Dissolution of the Fund for Milk and Cream Producers) under the Farm Products Payments Act as being obsolete.

The Farm Products Payments permits the establishment of funds for payment of compensation to unpaid producers of farm products, and the establishment and dissolution of boards to administer those funds. The responsibilities associated with the regulation were transferred to the Dairy Farmers of Ontario and the funds associated with this regulation have been distributed rendering this regulation obsolete.
