Summary of Proposal:
On November 1, 2010, the Ministry of Transportation amended Ontario Regulation 199/07 (O. Reg. 199/07), Commercial Motor Vehicle Inspections, to update the references within that regulation to Ontario Regulation 612 (O. Reg. 612), School Buses, for the purposes of conducting daily vehicle inspections. O. Reg. 199/07 identifies specific vehicle equipment items that must be inspected daily by commercial drivers and operators, including school bus drivers and operators.
These amendments were needed to update the inspection requirements in light of the recent changes to O. Reg. 612.
Likewise, MTO also amended Ontario Regulation 611, Safety Inspections,
to update the references within that regulation to O. Reg. 612 for the purposes of conducting annual and semi-annual vehicle safety inspections.
These changes are strictly changes in references and there have been no changes to the regulatory requirements made under these regulations.
