Summary of Proposal:
The regulation was amended to add that despite other provisions, an applicant for a practising member certificate or an applicant for a limited certificate of registration may meet the following requirements:1) hold a certificate, licence, registration or similar official recognition that is granted by a Canadian provincial or territorial professional geoscience regulatory authority, and attests to the applicant’s being qualified to practise professional geoscience, and 2) the certificate, licence, registration or similar official recognition has not been suspended, cancelled or revoked.
In addition, the regulation was amended to note that an applicant for a practising member certificate or an applicant for a limited certificate of registration under the above noted conditions is not required to complete the professional practice and ethics examination.
