Summary of Decision:
The Ontario Farm Products Marketing Commission amended Regulation 415: Grapes for Processing - Plan under the Farm Products Marketing Act.

The amendments change the geographic areas of grape producing districts as follows:
• Amalgamate Districts 2, 3 and 4 as well as the geographic areas of Dufferin, Halton and Peel into one new District 2;
• Amalgamate the former District 5 with the geographic areas of Bruce, Grey, Huron, Perth and Waterloo into a new District 3; and
• Change the geographic boundaries of the former District 6 and rename it as District 4.

The amendments also:
• Increase the number of producer delegates on the Grape Growers' Committee from 21 to 23;
• Increase the number of District 1 producer delegates on the Grape Growers' Committee from 10 to 11;
• Increase the number of District 1 delegates eligible for election to GGO's board of directors from three to four;
• Establish the number of District 2 producer delegates on the Grape Growers' Committee at eight;
• Establish the number of District 2 delegates eligible for election to GGO's board of directors at three; and
• Increase the number of each District 3 and District 4 producer delegates from one to two.

The director-at-large position is maintained.

The Commission also amended Regulation 414: Grapes for Processing - Marketing under the Farm Products Marketing Act.

The amendments update the name of a processor organization from "Winery and Grower Alliance of Ontario" to "Wine Growers Ontario."

The Regulations were filed with the Registrar of Regulations and are now in effect.
Analysis of Regulatory Impact:
There would be no new compliance costs to the processing grape industry as a result of the proposed amendments.
