Summary of Decision:
This regulation to amend subsection 1(6) of O.Reg. 201/96 made under the Ontario Drug Benefit Act was filed as O.Reg. 294/12 on September 27, 2012 and took effect on that date. The effect of this regulation is to reduce the transition fee payable to pharmacies for eligible claims submitted under the Ontario Drug Benefit Program between October 1, 2012 and March 31, 2013 from $0.35 to $0.15 per claim.

Summary of Proposal:
The Minister of Health and Long-Term Care invites public comments on a proposed regulation to amend subsection 1(6) of Ontario Regulation 201/96 made under the Ontario Drug Benefit Act.

The proposed regulation would:

Section 1:
- reduce the transition fee payable to pharmacies per eligible ODB claim between October 1, 2012 and March 31, 2013 from $0.35 to $0.25.

Section 2:
- provide that the regulation comes into force on the day it is filed with the Registrar of Regulations.

The content of the final regulations are at the discretion of the Lieutenant Governor in Council ('LGIC') who may make the regulations with any changes that the LGIC considers appropriate.
