Summary of Proposal:
The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) is beginning a review and consultation process focusing on matters that fall exclusively within its existing regulatory mandate with respect to wine, beer, and spirits manufacturers, liquor delivery services, manufacturers' representatives, and ferment-on-premise operators. The attached consultation document entitled, Regulatory Modernization in Ontario's Beverage Alcohol Industry, provides a foundation for this process.

Through this process, the AGCO is interested in ways to promote the public interest by reducing administrative burden for businesses in the beverage alcohol sector and supporting a more competitive economic climate for Ontario's liquor manufacturing and distribution sectors while continuing to uphold the highest standards of public safety. The paper includes a number of specific ideas for reforms to AGCO processes and policies that have been proposed, as well as a number of related questions posed for stakeholder feedback.
