Summary of Decision:
As a result of legislative amendments to the Ontario College of Trades and Apprenticeship Act, 2009, the Ontario College of Trades (College) Board of Governors is establishing a new regulation that prescribes the process for the College's referral of trade classification review requests to the Classification Roster, which would come into effect on July 1, 2018.

The sections of existing O. Reg. 458/11 respecting the previous criteria and process for trade classification reviews are also revoked.

Summary of Proposal:
As a result of legislative amendments to the Ontario College of Trades and Apprenticeship Act, 2009, the Ontario College of Trades (College) Board of Governors is required to create a new regulation prescribing the process for the College's referral of trade classification review requests to the Classification Roster. The sections of existing O. Reg. 458/11 dealing with trade classification reviews will be revoked and replaced by the new Board regulation dealing with referral, and a regulation by the Minister of Labour dealing with process and criteria for the Classification Roster and classification panels once a trade has been referred.
