Summary of Decision:
During the month of October 2017, the Local Services Board of Dennis Township South (the "LSB") undertook steps required by the Northern Services Boards Act to request the dissolution of the LSB. These steps included consultation with its inhabitants as well as a vote put forward to the inhabitants at a meeting called for that purpose. A majority of inhabitants present and voting at the meeting voted in favour of the dissolution. The dissolution of the LSB would include the liquidation of all LSB owned assets.
The LSB was dissolved by an order of the Minister under section 32 of the Northern Services Boards Act. Section 10 of Regulation 737 was revoked removing the LSB from the regulation. The regulations came into effect on July 31, 2019, the day each was filed with the Registrar of Regulations.
The Ministry of Energy, Northern Development and Mines is required to publish an invitation to creditors of the Board in the Sault Star and sootoday.com to inform the Ministry of any claims or debts.
