Summary of Decision:
This notice does not contain any policy changes to the Toxics Reduction Program.
This notice is to inform the regulated community and the public that:
-On December 29, 2012 the federal Department of the Environment (Environment Canada) published its 2012 and 2013 National Pollutant Release Inventory Notice (NPRI Notice), with respect to the substances in the NPRI for 2012 and 2013, pursuant to subsection 46(1) of the Canadian Environmental Protection Act, 1999. This notice applies to the calendar years 2012 and 2013.
-The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS), maintained for Canada by Statistics Canada was revised for 2012.
The Toxics Reduction Act and Ontario Regulation 455/09 adopt by reference the NPRI Notice and the NAICS. In order to bring by reference the 2012 and 2013 NPRI and the 2012 NAICS revisions into effect under the act, the ministry must publish a notice in the Ontario Gazette or on the Environmental Registry.
