These administrative amendments to O. Reg. 170/03 were required as a result of the province's introduction of the Community Homelessness Prevention Initiative (CHPI), which came into effect on January 1, 2013. This new program combines funding from five housing and homelessness-related programs into a single funding allocation administered by the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing.
These amendments would rename some facilities currently served by regulated drinking water systems in order to align with the premises funded under the new consolidated CHPI program. Some additional facilities were renamed to reflect the passage of the Services and Supports to Promote the Social Inclusion of Person with Developmental Disabilities Act, 2008, and the repeal on July 1, 2011 of the Developmental Services Act.
The changes rename some facilities currently served by regulated drinking water systems in order to align with new provincial programs or legislation.
These administrative amendments to O. Reg. 170/03 do not change the scope or intent of the existing legislation.
