Summary of Proposal:
The proposed amendment to the Ontario Securities Act Regulation 1015 is required to facilitate the mandatory electronic filing requirement proposed by the Ontario Securities Commission (OSC)
Electronic filing of documents would be convenient for filers and enable efficient collection and use of information by the OSC
The OSC anticipates that mandatory electronic filing would:
- Streamline the submission process and regulatory burden for market participants in Ontario;
- Improve the Commission's data analysis, compliance and enforcement capabilities; and
- Reduce the effort and time required to process and analyze documents.
